Reuven Wallack - Artist
General Attitude Towards the Evolution
of my Art: From Start to Present
I have now painted for over 30 years and things seemingly continue to remain the same. This is definitely not something I should share with a viewer. I would assume, like me, that the viewer most wants and values from his artist is that he takes chances through a willingness to constantly evolve and explore matters through various means. This is why David Hockney has always been my favorite living artist. Hockney is always upto something fresh and new.
My work has always included multi-media, assemblages, various art styles, political, social and art commentaries and the like. There isn't much political and social reflections in my new work, but everything else has been pictorally touched upon.
A more positive self-admission is that my ability to express emotion and explore substantive ideas have always been two of my strong suits. In line with this is that I believe the two grandest ambitions of art are to make the viewer feel and to make him think and for me I feel that sometimes my art achieves this lofty goal. And for this I am extremely proud.
